Anna Dello Russo, probably has to be my favourite editor to watch in terms
of her wearable selections. I think she appeals to my own sensibilities of
mixing colours and textures. Also the fact, that she sports pieces like that
Miu Miu heavily embellished, bordering on ice skater dress makes me
extremely envious.

the lady artist of allah

It has been a couple years since I have held such fascination
with a video artist. Bill Viola, being my introduction to the medium
and really a founding father. I recently discovered Shirin Neshat,
an Iranian artist working today in New York. I have yet to see any
of her work in person, but was struck by the still from the piece,
'Games of Desire'
. A meditation on oral histories and courtship
rituals in Laos.

This exhibit is up in Madrid at the
La Fábrica Galería through March.

i enjoyed my brief stay in portugal immensely and am so looking for a
way to get back soon. this particular region of
alentejo looks a bit lost in time
and i'm highly keen on that at the moment.

something must have been swirling around in the air with my thoughts
turning toward the thunder perfect mind prada video the other day.
on friday, prada debuted their book. finally.
i popped in yesterday and picked up a copy and was weirdly recognized
by the staff and we had a mini critique of the resort prints. (which are beautiful!)
its really amazing and much more than a reprint of the campaigns.
its all about production, their various artistic explorations and stores-
and there are thumbnails of every look from every collection.

crema on the terraza

i found this beautiful, dusty old school art house cafe

specializing in sweets, took a break and had a refresco
and some coco de natas.
i admit to going there a couple of times,
it has a lovely old city vibe.

i was floored with the amount of love and support i have received in my last few days prior to my departure.
thank you immensely for your kindest words of love and admiration, the beautiful gifts, songs sang to me, hugs and kisses, messages and letters and 3d glasses.
leaving my empty room and all of you became clearly apparent in my last few hours.
i got a message in my last minutes of madness and stress that really helped me get on my way.
muchas gracias, love. i needed that.
i was totally bawling on my first flights from nyc to philly, which i throughly believed the nasty snatch
of an airline stewardess was relishing in because prior to that, she yelled at me to put my wallet and
bagel into the overhead compartment. i mean a bagel, really. and when she saw my stack of
letters and cards to open, i think she despised me even more. nonetheless, i flew, met a cool
windsurfer paparazzi dude (that was the spitting image of a young eric hemion!)
on the way, who assured me i was going to have a splendid trip
and convinced me i must stop in morocco and then i landed safely in madrid.
